Band Staff



Mrs. Helen Bennett
Mrs. Bennett graduated from Boone Grove High School in Valparaiso, IN in 1999. In 2009 Mrs. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Music Education at Indiana Purdue University in Fort Wayne, IN. Mrs. Bennett has taught at many area high schools, including ISSMA state finalists North Side High School and Heritage High School.

Marcus Farr

Mr. Farr is a graduate of North Side High School, where he has been a staff member since 1996. He plays professionally in area jazz, rock, and funk bands. Mr. Farr is pursuing a degree in music education from Indiana Purdue University. Mr. Farr coaches the Indiana Tech and IPFW pep bands. Mr. Farr has taught at many area schools such as North Side, Norwell, Concordia, Woodlan, and East Noble. At CCHS, Mr. Farr is the assistant director, and will be involved with the marching band and jazz bands.
Nick Neukom
Mr. Neukom graduated from Garrett High School. Mr. Neukom is pursuing a degree in music education from Indiana Purdue University. Mr. Neukom has written percussion music and taught at many area schools such as Homestead, Garrett, Northrop, Heritage, and Winchester High Schools. He is a Rock Band MASTER.
Kent Klee
Mr. Klee is the arranger of CCHS 2009 Music! Mr. Klee is a graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne and IPFW. Kent plays professionally and teaches around the Fort Wayne area. He currently is on staff with the Homestead and Snider Marching Bands as music and percussion arranger as well as percussion instructor.
Doug Hassell
Our drill writer, Mr. Hassell, is a graduate of North Side High School and of Indiana Purdue University. He is currently the Director of Bands at Norwell High School in Ossian, IN. Norwell's Band is a regular visitor to ISSMA state finals. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps from Madison, Wis., in 1995 and 1996. The corps finished fourth and sixth respectively at the Drum Corps International World Championships, including a world championship for brass performance in 1995.
Cindy Neukom
Cindy is a color guard writer and instructor at Columbia City. She is a graduate of Yorktown High School near Muncie, IN. Cindy is an alumni of Ball State University,, where she earned her degree in medical technology. She is employed at Parkview Hospital. She has taught at many local high schools including Winchester and Carroll.
Amy Johnston
Amy is a graduate of Columbia City High School. Amy has been a guard tech at CCHS since 2007. Amy is pursuing a degree in fine arts at Indiana Purdue University. She plans to illustrate children's books in the future.
Zac Ackermann
Zac is a graduate of Heritage High School.
Ian McComb
Ian teaches brass at Columbia City High School. Ian is a graduate of North Side High School, where he was a three-time jazz lead trumpet award winner. Ian attends IPFW, where he will be studying secondary education with an emphasis in history. He plans to be a social studies teacher.
Krista Melcher
Krista is a graduate of Heritage High School. Krista has been a state finalist for both solo and ensemble contests in percussion, as well as with her high school marching band as a member of the battery. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class. Krista will be attending East Carolina University to study percussion.

John Blevins
John teaches winds at Columbia City, as well as Homestead and Heritage High Schols. John is a graduate of Homestead High School and is currently pursuing degrees in trumpet performance and jazz at Indiana University Bloomington.

Michael Magdich
Mr. Magdich is teaching percussion at Columbia City. He is a graduate of Elmhurst High School and Indiana Purdue University in percussion performance. He is currently on the faculty in percussion at Trine University. He has taught at many area schools such as Heritage, Snider, Homestead, Northrop, Wayne, Adams Central, Hamilton, and Columbia City.
 

Camille Wilcoxson
Camille is a graduate of North Side High School. Camille teaches color guard at Columbia City, as well as Northrop High School. Camille will be attending IPFW and studying business. Camille plans to be an accountant or teach math in the future.

Randy Wood
Randy Wood serves as our official chauffer. A Whitey County lifer, Randy is a veteran driver for WCCS. Randy's passion in life is young people. He uses tranportation to encourage students and help them acheive their best. Randy is actively involved helping with equipment and setup for competitions. Students enjoy Randy and Randy enjoys students.
